Account Executive – Academic, Readex Division

Remote

The Account Executive is a consultative role, responsible for achieving sales territory growth goals by selling Readex resources to Academic Libraries in the Executive’s assigned territory. The position is remote from your home office and includes travel to consult with customers.

Starting Salary Range:

$80,000 - $95,000 plus earned commissions

Essential Functions:

  • Achieve or exceed individual sales goals
  • Generate leads and add new opportunities into your pipeline
  • Move opportunities in your pipeline to a sale
  • Strategize and grow your territory in collaboration with Sales Management to increase market penetration
  • Convert product knowledge into a compelling value proposition for customers and users
  • Conduct web-based sales demonstrations of existing and new products
  • Schedule appointments to uncover customer and prospects’ needs
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring that customers feel informed and comfortable throughout the sales process)
  • Sales administration and reporting including accurately forecasting sales pipeline and use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to record activity
  • Work closely with various company departments including Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Service
  • Responsible for completion of other job duties as assigned or requested

Experience & Background Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ Academic Library sales experience
  • Track record of success in prior Academic Library sales roles, ideally has prior successful experience selling primary source/digital archive products to Academic Libraries
  • BA or BS degree, or higher
  • Top performer with the ability to sell new business as well as demonstrated experience in consultative selling.
  • Proficient with CRM and with standard industry software including on-line meeting software, Microsoft Office, and Excel
  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image to customers
  • Ability to work successfully across the organization and with customers and product users
  • Possesses a passion for history and storytelling
  • Conduct high-impact virtual and live presentations/demonstrations of Readex resources
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and listening
  • Excellent time management skills
